MODULE: CONNECT4

Connect 4

Our Connect 4 module runs the classic four-in-a-row duel on a clean synchronized board, then goes further than the original ever did. Two players get the traditional 6x7 grid, while the 3-4 player mode expands the battlefield to a 10x10 grid where four colors fight over the same columns.

Pieces obey gravity and fall to the lowest open cell, and the first operative to line up four in any direction claims the win and 25 points. For veterans, Hard Mode seeds the board with Neural Glitches: blocked cells that pieces stack on top of and that never count toward a line, which quietly rewrites every column read you have ever memorized.

Rules of Engagement

  • 01Claim a color seat: red, blue, yellow, or green. Two players use a 6x7 board; three or four players use a 10x10 board.
  • 02A random assigned player goes first, then turns rotate in fixed color order.
  • 03On your turn, drop one piece into a column. It falls to the lowest empty cell.
  • 04First player to connect four in a row, column, or diagonal wins and earns 25 points.
  • 05If the board fills with no line of four, the match is a draw.
  • 06In Hard Mode, glitch cells block the board: pieces stack on top of them and glitches never count in a winning line.

Strategic Intelligence

  • Control the center columns. They participate in more possible lines of four than the edges do.
  • Build double threats: two ways to win on your next turn that a single opposing piece cannot block.
  • Watch the cell your drop exposes. Filling a column can hand your opponent the landing spot they were waiting for.
  • In 3-4 player matches, block the player closest to winning even if they are not your biggest rival. Kingmaking loses games.
  • In Hard Mode, scan for glitches before planning diagonals; a single blocked cell kills the line through it.

Tactical Suitability

Ideal for anyone who grew up on the plastic original and wants quick, no-setup rounds with a friend online. The 4-player big board and Hard Mode give strategy fans real depth beyond the classic, while the base game stays simple enough for kids and casual family sessions.

Module FAQ

Technical Protocol Assistance

Yes. Our 3-4 player mode moves the fight to a 10x10 board with up to four colors. You still only need four in a row to win.

Hard Mode scatters Neural Glitch cells across the board. Pieces stack on top of a glitch instead of falling through it, and glitches never count in a winning line, so standard column plans stop working.

The starting player is chosen at random from the filled seats, then the turn order rotates in a fixed color sequence.

You can play the classic 2-player board as a guest. Switching to the 4-player mode or Hard Mode asks you to sign in first.
