MODULE: PATTERNLOCK

Pattern Lock

Pattern Lock, codename Ring Rush, is a precision cracking challenge built around a rotary vault. Three concentric rings spin continuously, each at its own speed and direction, and every ring has a glowing notch that must be frozen in alignment with its target angle. You must lock them strictly in order, outer ring first, then middle, then inner, and each freeze is judged the instant you commit.

Miss the alignment window and you drop one of your three hearts; land all three within the 15-second limit and you bank 30 points, the lock rebuilds with new targets, and the rings spin faster. Runs end when the hearts run out, and your cleared-level count is the score to beat.

Rules of Engagement

  • 01Three concentric rings rotate automatically, each at a different speed, with the middle ring spinning the opposite direction.
  • 02Each ring has a target angle. Tap a ring to freeze it, and it is judged immediately against its target with a small tolerance window.
  • 03Rings must be frozen in strict order: outer first, then middle, then inner.
  • 04You have 15 seconds and 3 hearts per run. A missed freeze or an expired timer costs a heart.
  • 05Clearing all three rings banks 30 points and advances to the next level, where the rings spin roughly 12% faster.
  • 06When your hearts run out the run ends, and your levels-cleared total is recorded.

Strategic Intelligence

  • Watch a full rotation before your first tap; each ring's rhythm is learnable and taps timed to rhythm beat taps timed to sight.
  • Commit early in the 15 seconds. The timer pressure compounds ring by ring, and rushing the inner ring is how hearts die.
  • The middle ring spins counter to the others; consciously reverse your timing instinct or you will lead it the wrong way.
  • Tap slightly before the notch reaches the target to absorb your own reaction delay.
  • In later levels, prioritize survival over style: a scrappy tolerance-edge lock scores the same 30 points as a perfect one.

Tactical Suitability

For players who love pure execution challenges, the heist-movie thrill of cracking a safe under time pressure distilled into ninety-second runs. It works as a solo skill grind with visibly rising mastery, and in a lobby it becomes an informal high-score duel, since everyone faces the same escalating speed curve and the scoreboard remembers who cracked deepest.

Module FAQ

Technical Protocol Assistance

Yes, strictly outer, then middle, then inner. Tapping out of order is refused, so the sequence is part of the challenge.

You lose one of your three hearts the moment the freeze is judged. Lose all three, or run out the 15-second clock, and the run ends.

Every cleared level generates new target angles and spins the rings faster, so deep runs demand genuinely sharper timing.

Each cleared lock is worth 30 points across its three rings, and your final levels-cleared count is the number your friends will try to beat.
